Verizon and ESPN are finalizing the terms of a deal that will bring the centerpiece of Mobile ESPN's now defunct service to the carrier. VCAST subscribers will be able to download the ESPN application that was on all the MVNO's phones and access scores, stats, and video for no additional charge beyond a VCAST subscription pack. The deal reportedly includes an ESPN channel for the upcoming VCAST TV service that will feature much of the programming from ESPN network. Although Mobile ESPN operated on Sprint's network, Sprint users will reportedly not have access to the ESPN application the agreement with Verizon will give them multi-year exclusive access to the application.

Why??

Why does ESPN like to be sold to just one company. Its just like in the video games, they sold out their name to Sega. 👿
well. lets think. if you had something to sell you can auction it off the the highest bidder. and make more money. it makes sense. 😲
