Verizon will change the rules for their trial period beginning Monday, March 26. The company will offer new subscribers a 30 day period to try Verizon phones and service, and will refund not only equipment costs, but all calling costs and fees to people who choose not to keep the service. Although most carriers offer 30 days trials and will refund phone and signup fees, they typically will refund only the unused portion of the calling plan. Verizon will still charge people who took the test drive for data costs, downloads, and other VCAST services used during the trial period.

Good and bad

This may be good to consumers that and skeptical about VZW network and don't want to pay to use their service. It's bad for VZW if you have people that may take advantage of VZW without paying. I don't this this may last long if VZW's losing new inventory on returned phones. I don't know if VZW sales their returned or exchanged phones.
