Sprint Introduces Airave To Help Weak Reception
Sep 17, 2007, 2:57 AM by (staff)
updated Sprint will begin offering a new femtocell device to help improve reception in homes to subscribers in Denver and Indianapolis. The Airave is a small box users plug into their home broadband connection that will cover an area of approximately 5000 square feet. Unlike T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home, the Airave uses femtocell technology to extend regular cellular coverage, so users do not need to buy a new handset to use it. The Airave will cost $50 and Sprint will charge an additional service fee of $15 per month for individuals or $30 for families, which includes unlimited calling from the Airave. Up to 3 people can make calls from an Airave at once. The device is made by Samsung and was shown off at CTIA as the "UbiCell".

it is unfortunate for sprint customers that it can only be used in the US only. With T-mobile you can pretty much use it everywhere worldwide, legally. Another perk of T-Mobile, is you also d...
