T-Mobile Announces BlackBerry Curve With Wi-Fi

T-Mobile announced that it will begin selling the Research In Motion BlackBerry Curve. This version of the Curve has Wi-Fi on board and is compatible with T-Mobile's Hotspot @Home cellular/Wi-Fi converged calling service as well as T-Mobile's MyFaves program. Most other features and specifications of the Curve remain unchanged. It still has quad-band GSM/EDGE radios, as well as stereo Bluetooth, 2 Megapixel camera and support for up to 4GB of storage in the microSD slot. It costs $249 with agreement.

Bluetooth and WiFi

With the two phones that initially launched with T-mobile's Hotspot@home program, there was a few problems with using a bluetooth headset while using the WiFi calling as well. If you were on the WiFi network and tried to use your bluetooth sometimes it would have a lot of feedback and lots of echo, essentially unusable.
I really really hope the new Curve doesn't have this problem, considering most consumers use a Bluetooth headset with a data device.

The phone is awesome though, it's been flying off the shelves since release!

This phone is already released!

The Curve w/ WiFi was scheduled to launch today, but because all the stores had them in stock on Friday, they pushed the release date up to Saturday (22nd).

Early October??? no no no, go get it now!

So what is it an 8820 or 8320 and I looked out at the T-Mobile press releases and this wasn't one of them.

This version of the Curve is the 8320. T-Mobile is slow to update their press release site. As soon as the full press release is available, we'll update the link.
