FCC Delays 700 MHz Auction, Sets Final Rules In Place

The FCC has set a new date, January 24, 2008, as the new date for the 700 MHz auction, a delay of eight days. Along with the delay, the FCC has also published the final set of rules for bidders. It has retained the open access provision to the C block spectrum, and has decided to give bidding discounts to smaller companies. Companies interested in bidding must register for licenses between November 19 and December 3. There are 1,099 licenses up for auction, and the reserve price for the auction is $4.63 billion.

anybody know how many liscense are going to be bought? all? most? some?
I can't see any licenses not being bought.

Yea, with spectrum you will never see people not buy any. If the wireless companies won’t buy it, then you will see Google, Apple and others do. It is hard to say right now but I think most of it will be bought up. Google and Apple should...
