Verizon Sues Sprint Over Interconnection Charges

Verizon Wireless has filed a lawsuit against Sprint Nextel, seeking payment of $10 million for interconnection charges. Verizon claims that it has contacted Sprint repeatedly for many months to receive its payment, but has not been successful. Because the interconnection charges are subject to a two-year statute of limitations, the lawsuit is meant to speed up the process so Verizon can be paid before the two-year period expires.

Much ado about nothing.

Long time reader first time poster. Anyway what I dont understand is if Sprint is outright refusing to pay a 10 million dollar bill why wouln't vzw simply shut off the taps first... then sue? I'm pretty sure the answer is that the moneys in question are simply a disputed part of a larger bill that sprint has been paying. It also seems evident from the title of the article that this dispute has been going on for some time.. Hence the phrase "ongoing squabble" So this is a contract dispute in the northeast... seemingly about who is responsible for the cost of certain tarriffs (pure speculation on my part).

Verizon, however, has a problem in that if this isn't settled in a certain time frame then they will outright lose the dispute. T...

Corporate Greed and Lawsuits...America's Two Favorite Past Times. lol

Everyone just wants to sue everyone for stupid stuff. Not to mention spend all day buying and selling each other back and forth. Can't we all just learn to get along? 🤣
While I know corporate bashing is a favorite past time on these forums, this does not fall under the corporate greed category. This is a breach of contract, VZ has every right to sue.
...
Ah, to be able to brush off a $10 millon debt under the banner of "can't we all just get along." I wish I had that kind of money.

Please Read The Article

Verizon Communications not Verizon Wireless, is suing Sprint. This is a whole different ballgame then what most of you think. So let the bashing of Sprint, then the bashing of Verizon and then the bashing of each other begin.
Doesn't matter which Verizon it is, because one owns half the other. Verizon Wireless is carrying over 31 Billion dollars in debt.
They need the money! 🤣

DOES NOT SURPRISE ME AT ALL

This doesnt surprise me at all, I have been battling with sprint to pay me correctly for a STD leave for almost 5 months now and today I got a lawyer. (Even had a post about it a bit ago in the Sprint Forums)

Not to mention the numerous small claims lawsuits that sprint has delt with over the past year. You can only misstreat people for so long.
Wow. Jump on the bandwagon. Troll... 🙄

😲 You got paid leave for an STD? 😳 Now that's what I call benefits!! Do they give you more time off for the Clap than genital warts? Because with warts you could still do your daily responsibilities, but the green drippies could soil your uniform...

To evilhomer

"Unlimited everything won't mean crap without VZW to piggy back on."

This is the most preposterous, weightless comment I've ever read on these forums.
Agreed. 🤣
This deserved a new thread?

Besides that, what he said is essentially true. Any wireless provider cannot preform well without the assistance and roaming agreements of other providers.

Where's BROWN?

Just wondering 😎
No kidding, Brown is usually the first person to spin any sort of news into Sprint Fanboy propaganda. Now when the hammer comes down, no comments.

Next to the Vagisil and Monistat 7. Just below the Summers Eve.

Time to pay up!

Come on Sprint...Verizon needs some mula after the 700 MHz auction. That and if you can spent over 100 mill to promote the Instinct why can't you come up with 10% of that to pay your bills?
Sprint is nearly bankrupt again, why should they not wait to the very last minute to pay?
...
just give sprint some time they need to overcharge some ppl first!
...
In rural areas one of their bigger roaming partners is Verizon. I'm sure if Sprint doesn't pay up, Verizon is going to start pulling the plug on roaming with Sprint.
...
Verizon is always wanting more money! They can't squeeze anymore out of their customers so they have to go after other carriers.

Hey Verizon, note to self: Don't write checks that your butt can't cash (700MHz spectrum) and then expect everyone to ...

Sprint Sues AT&T Over Interconnection Charges?

Per the source article from RCR News

"While on the receiving end of the suit, Sprint Nextel is mounting a major effort at the FCC to ensure AT&T Inc. is not allowed to stray from an interconnection condition to which it agreed as a prerequisite to gaining approval of its merger with BellSouth Corp. in late 2006. Wireless carriers and other communications companies have sided with Sprint Nextel. AT&T asserts Sprint Nextel and others are misinterpreting the merger commitment and federal telecom regulations."

Looks like Sprint is not the only one not paying their bills.
Since when did Sprint have roaming agreements with att

Sprint's New Business Plan

Looks like Sprint has the same mentality as many of their customers. Get the service, and don't pay the bill.

I guess Verizon should have ran credit on Sprint before allowing them to have a contract. Maybe they should have charged a $125 or $400 deposit.
Still laughing by the way. Hell yeah theyshould have ran credit on them chraging them a depostit or plain just DECLINE!)
HAHAHAHHAHHAHAH 🤣
