T-Mobile Launches 3G Network in Las Vegas
Aug 6, 2008, 7:37 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today T-Mobile announced the launch of its 1700MHz AWS 3G network in the Las Vegas market. Customers with compatible phones will be able to use the 1700MHz spectrum for voice and UMTS 3G data services. Phones that support T-Mobil'es 3G will automatically find the 3G network. T-Mobile also said that it will be expanding its 3G footprint to 20 additional markets by the end of the year, and is preparing to announce an HSDPA-capable phone and "new and compelling data-centric, all-in-one devices." T-Mobile did not elaborate as to what those devices would be. Nor did it say which specific markets it will be adding.

1700 and 2100?
Looking at the current lineup of 3G phones TMobile carries, Nokia 6263(Dual-band WCDMA 1700, 2100), Nokia 3555(Dual-band WCDMA 1700, 2100), Samsung T639(WCDMA) - the Nokia's support 2100 so you could specualte that a 2100MHz only phone would work. Anyone in Vegas or NY have a 2100MHz phone that is working?

Yeah thats why T-mobile is the only carrier to offer perfect coverage in any house with a wifi connect. Offer $10 unlimited home service and the lowest rates out of any carrier. True we are behind on 3G but thats not our fault the government was dragging its feet on giving up the spectrum. No company is perfect on their coverage and certain companies work better in certain areas. As for phones sorry we don't try to flood the market with iphone wannabe rip offs(verizon π ).
