Nokia Bolsters Developer Tools, Blends Webkit Integration

Today Nokia introduced revised tools for developers of its mobile platforms. Qt 4.5, Qt Creator IDE version 1.0, and a new SDK for Qt are now available. The biggest changes include better integration of the Webkit browser functions with native applications. This includes Netscape Plugin API support, which will allow Qt applications to load Flash. Developers will also be able to create more advanced web UI effects and should see better performance due to a revised JavaScript engine. It also now supports Apple's Cocoa framework, which means developers can create applications for 32 or 64 bit Intel or PowerPC-based Macs from the same code. Qt also now includes an LGPL licensing option.
