Updated: Added price / clarified bands supported
Today Samsung showed off the SCH-r810 Finesse, a new touch phone bound for MetroPCS. It has tri-band 850/1700/1900 MHz CDMA 1x for data. The Finesse runs Samsung's TouchWiz user interface complete with widgets, and has a full HTML web browser, 2 megapixel camera with flash and video capture, GPS and Bluetooth. It supports microSD cards up to 16GB. Price will be set at $350, though avaiilablilty has yet to be confirmed.
Piece of junk
This phone is going right back to the store. If I wanted this bland of a UI I would of bought a boring old feature clam phone. The call performance was horrible and the browser experience was painfully slow and not user-friendly. The phone also keeps freezing on me and I am constantly hitting the end key.
What part of MetroPCS didn't you understand?
I LOVE IT
I LOVE THIS PHONE I GOT IT TODAY. HAVE NO PROBLEMS. WORKING THE PHONE FOR ABOUT 8 HOURS NOW AND NO FUSTRATIONS. ๐ ๐ ๐
PROS: AWESOME 2.0 CAM EVERYTHING ELSE
CONS: COULD BE LOUDER, NO YOUTUBE. NOT PRESSED ABOUT IT HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT ITS JUST A PHONE.
ALL IN ALL IT PAYS FOR IT SELF. THINK ABOUT IT. YOUR PAYING FOR THE IPHONE ABOUT 150 A MONTH AT THE LEAST AND YOU PAID ABOUT 300-500 FOR THE PHONE. YOU GET THE FINESSE AND ONLY PAY THE 340 AND THEN FIRST MONTH FREE AND THEN ABOUT 70 AT THE MAX A MONTH FOR UNLIMITED EVERYTHING AND INSURANCE FOR THE PHONE. THINK ABOUT IT....
Didn't even get out the door before it locked up.
I picked one up and am pretty disappointed with it so far. I wasn't even out the door before it locked up on me. I had to pull the battery out to bring it back to life. The store manager told me that new SW is coming out that should fix this but I don't know if I can wait until then. I can hardly text on it because the virtual qwerty is so bad. ๐ฟ
So, this device continues to periodically lock up on me. The worst is when I am trying to send an email. It takes forever to type it with how bad the keypad works.
This piece of junk is the final kicker for what has been a horrible past few mon...

no wi-fi?
All this metro phone needed was wifi....how are you supposed to browse the internet smoothly with 1xRTT?
Metropcs does have 1xRTT but will be 3G in markets soon as they came out with the blackberry.
Having Wifi drives up the cost of the phone.
The Behold 2?
๐คจ Its just the behold 2 with a crappier camera (which greatly makes me sad since the 5mp camera was one of the better features on it)
