Today Samsung and AT&T announced the Jack, successor to the BlackJack series of Windows Mobile devices. The Jack is a bar-style phone with full QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera with video capture, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G. It has a microSD slot and supports cards up to 16GB. The Jack will run Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition out of the box, but can be upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5 once the new operating system becomes available. The Jack will go on sale May 19, for $100 after rebate with new two-year agreement.
Jack question
I don't see a power button, is there a way to turn the Jack off?
wow...really..did u ever think it could be on the top???? like the the bleack jacks....
All I have to say is. . .
Personally I don't find this phone desirable, but it is !! AMAZING !! what you can get now a days for $100.
Does it commit you to a 2 year agreement and a expensive data plan?
jack or nokia e71x?
they are both $99 so it mainly comes down the the operating systems..symbian or windows mobile? i don't want a phone that lags and on my palm and HTC phones the windows mobile lagged. but maybe on this phone it won't.
thanks ๐
looks like a smaller blackberry bold
After looking at this phone the first thing that I thought of was my blackberry bold. I have never been too keen on microsoft os, but this does look like a clean phone. I will be testing it out may 19th when it launches and I will be giving my feedback on it.
Do all those megapixels come with auto-focus?
I've been seriously contemplating picking up the Curve 8900, which has a 3.2 MP camera with auto-focus, but this device is definitely another for me to consider! I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether or not the camera will have an auto-focus like that on the Curve 8900 or the Storm? I'm so sick of phones that couple lots of megapixels with a crappy sensor and barebones camera capabilities! The snapshots just end up being super-enlarged surveillance footage photos. ๐
You should take a look at the new Sony Ericsson coming out. It has all the features of the Cyber Shot digital camera, with an 8.1 mp camera. All the cameras functions are copied directly to the phone.
nothing new
this looks like a moto q9.... ๐คจ
Really the only improvement I see is the 3.2mp camera. But it is amazing what you can get now a days for a $100.
I actually think it's really slick looking, but I totally agree with you that it looks like a Moto Q9. Hopefully it'll work better than one! ๐
