According to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal, both Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile plan to offer Android-based phones that will be manufactured by Motorola before the end of 2009. One device in particular, say people familiar with the matter, has a touch-based display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard for messaging and built-in access to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The Journal's source said that Verizon, in particular, was impressed by the speed of the Motorola device. Motorola declined to comment on the story, and neither T-Mobile nor Verizon Wireless has officially announced any Motorola-made Android devices.
