Today Google upgraded its Google Sync service to provide push Gmail services to the iPhone and Windows Mobile devices. Users of Google Sync need to enable push Gmail from the desktop client. Once enabled, Gmail will be pushed to iPhones and Windows Mobile phones instantly, rather than pulled intermittently. Google Sync also supports Google Contacts and Calendar. For iPhone, it only works for devices running OS 3.0 and up. Google recommends users perform a full back-up before setting up the new sync service.

THIS IS NOT PUSH!

This does NOT push email to your phone (not like BlackBerry Push anyways)

It sets up a send/receive schedule just like the regular mail in WinMo phones.

Difference being, in regular mail, WinMo knows the settings and in easier to setup!

I want PUSH with WinMo! Someone sends the email, POOF it shows up on my phone!

When I send an email to my wife's GMail account, it is sent to her BlackBerry IMMEDIATELY and usually beats the email to gmail.com!

Gpush

I think I am just going to stick with my Gpush application. Seems to be working just fine for me 🙂
This doesn't replace Gpush - it compliments it. This is a huge development for Gmail users.....
