T-Mobile Launches HTC HD2 With Blockbuster Movies

T-Mobile today finally launched the long-anticipated HTC HD2. The phone, which has been available in Europe for some time, sports a 4.3-inch capacitive WVGA touchscreen, and runs HTC's Sense interface on top of Windows Mobile 6.5. The new T-Mobile version will go on sale on March 24th for $450, or $200 with a contract agreement. Among the new features found on this American version is a Blockbuster movie store, where users can download movies over a Wi-Fi connection to store on the 16GB microSD card bundled with the device. Movies will be available to rent for less than $5, and there will be a full purchase option as well. In addition, the T-Mobile HTC HD2 will come with a Barnes & Noble eBook reader that will pair with a users B&N account. The phone also gets the latest version of the MobiTV streaming video service. Unfortunately, the new Windows Mobile phone runs the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS, not the latest 6.5.3 build, and the HD2 will not be upgradeable to Windows Phone 7 Series when the new mobile OS launches later this year.

WRONG

This information is WRONG. The HD2 does NOT launch until the 24th.
