Nokia Files Second Lawsuit Against Apple

Nokia has filed a second lawsuit against Apple, this time alleging that the iPhone and iPad 3G infringe on five patents that belong to Nokia. The patents in question relate to speech and data transmission, as well as how location information can be used within applications, and antenna design. Apple has not responded. Nokia sued Apple in late 2009 over wireless patents, and Apple countersued Nokia. Neither of the previous cases has been resolved, though the U.S. International Trade Commission has agreed to investigate Apple's claims against Nokia.

Nokia's only hope is these lawsuits.

Nokia may sell a lot of handsets, but go through the following:

Viable Smartphone Platform? - Nope.

One successful software initiative? - Nope. In fact, I think you could argue that Ovi, et. al. have all been massive failures. But calling any one of them a success is false.

A singe successful model in the USA - Nope.

Excellent developer support? - Nope.

Any sort of vision as to where to take mobile computing? - Nope.

Going through it all, Nokia has sadly become nothing more than a peddler of cheap inexpensive handsets and poorly engineered smartphones to Europeans who don't know any better. None of those are sustainable long term (look at their numbers... ha!) so they're now play...

Its not only Apple and the iPhone, its also Android handsets. Nokia's best phone and its one heck of a great phone is the N900 which more or less is niche device. Their Symbian while excellent several years ago, is dated, even their new flavors. Su...

Why is the US critical to the success of Nokia?

You are fanboy-maximus so explain to me, a European, living in New Zealand (with a second home in Nosara, Costa Rica) with 5 Nokia's, an iPhone & 2 iPad's why Nokia has to rule in the US to be relevan...

According to global smart sales, why is it then that Nokia is greater than the sum of the iPhone & all Android combined????

Who is lying, you or facts?

Sad Panda's. :(

Why not just let themselves sink into obscurity already and stop making a fuss with all this kicking and screaming and lawsuits and stuff. Nokia is just PO'd that Apple is relativly new to their domain and already doing better sale for sale than they are. If Nokia didn't have low-quality, low-cost phones people use for replacements in a pinch, they wouldn't have sold crap for handsets.
the average revenue per iPhone for apple is $650

sad, sad, sad

it is such a shame that cell providers can't subsidize high end nokia phones in this country. lower end nokia phone does suck. try using a high end phone then ask which is better.

the iphone can't even compare. it is due to great marketing that sells the iphone. that and all the kids wanting to be cool. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

seriously people it is the year 2010 and the iphone can't even multitask. iphone fanboys have to wait until this summer ๐Ÿ˜ฒ nokia has been multitasking for years.

i just decided to post this to get responses because i am bored at work and its friday. ๐Ÿ˜›
