Windows Phone 7 and KIN Closer Cousins Than Thought

Microsoft recently indicated that Windows Phone 7 and KIN share a more integrated future than may have been previously understood. A Microsoft spokesperson told Phone Scoop via email, "Both KIN and Windows Phone 7 share common OS components, software and services. We will seek to align around a single platform for both products as well as consistent hardware specifications, so we can drive our ecosystem at scale and strength across all products." Microsoft didn't say that the platforms themselves woud merge or that one would go away, but the underlying fundamentals will be held together by core technologies to make developing for both platforms easier. Windows Phone 7 and KIN both run on Microsoft's Silverlight technology. Windows Phone 7 also includes Microsoft's XNA code.

That's not a good thing- and to muchdrama: I was right

The Kin is typical Microsoft- great idea poorly executed. Actually, make that really poorly executed. Windows Phone 7 is supposed to be a clean break from this stigma.

They're going to have to do better than this.

I have to agree with you on the way the Kins currently represent Windows. I was rather disappointed in the overall performance. However, I do think the Kins only represent a very tiny fraction of what is to come out of Win7. Very watered down. In tal...

so...

if phonescoop said that KIN OS is the most disappointing OS they have rewieved in a month i´m realy not interested is anyone?
I'm not interested in *anything* Microsoft. The reason I'm so much into cellphones is because the wireless world isn't dominated by Microsoft like the desktop world is. There's a whole lot more competition in the wireless world than in the desktop pc....
