HP Preparing Printing from Smartphones

The New York Times reports that HP is prepared to debut a new line of web-connected printers that will make it easier to print from mobile devices. Printing from smartphones will be possible because HP is giving each printer its own unique email address. This will allow phone users to email documents or photos directly to the printer, which can then print the documents and have them ready when the user returns home or to the office. The new range of printers will cost between $100 and $400. HP is also preparing to launch a suite of web-based services in connection with the printers. Availability wasn't made clear. HP recently agreed to purchase smartphone maker Palm.
