Google on Monday confirmed that it is working on a version of its Goggles Visual Search application for the iPhone. Goggles allows users to take pictures of objects and then perform searches based on the image — negating the need to type anything. Google said that it is considering opening up Goggles and publishing APIs (application programming interfaces) that would allow third-party companies to use Goggles in their applications. Google Goggles is currently only available for the Android platform. Google said the iPhone version of Goggles will be available by the end of the year.
