Research In Motion today said that it is offering a software update for the Blackberry 9800 Torch. According to RIM, the update improves the speed and performance of the browser; improves responsiveness after unlocking; speeds up application launch, exit and switching times; helps the home screen render transitions faster; renders thumbnails faster in the media gallery; improves email application performance; and makes improvements to the Torch's audio quality. The software is being pushed out over the air over the course of the next few weeks, though it is also available for manual download.

Amazing

Amazing that the upgrades (improvements) are being made so fast by AT&T. I remember with the original Bold how slowly they came (if ever). Did the upgrade when desktop manager said there was one available. Upgrade went smoothly and the improvements are definitely noticeable. Even improved the trackpad, I had noticed that sometimes it did not respond right away to swipes (even with a 90 sensitivity)and now it moves perfectly, as good as I remember the trackball on the Bold.
