Motorola Droid 2 Global Boasts 1.2GHz Processor

Motorola today published details about the Droid 2 Global handset, intended for Verizon Wireless. According to the specs posted on Motorola's web site, the Droid 2 has a 1.2GHz processor and can access both Verizon's 3G network and WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA networks of carriers in Europe. The Droid 2 Global has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and "improved touch screen technology." It also offers a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and autofocus. It runs Android 2.2, ships with Adobe Flash Player Mobile 10.1. It has 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. The Droid 2 Global offers support for Exchange and POP3/IMAP4 email, and support for microSD cards up to 32GB. Motorola did not publish information about the Droid 2 Global's availability nor price. Based on some discrepancies with the weight and screen resolution when compared to the Droid 2, it is possible that the specs listed on the Motorola web site aren't final.

would it work if u bought this phone at full retail

1. Only if it were unlocked. 2. The phone would need to pick up US gsm frequencies, not just European, in order to use place calls on t-mobile's network.

Verizon phones come locked to Vodaphone sims (even at full retail pricing). That being said, it is really simple to unlock the device, but it does require that you have a Verizon account in good standing.

I'm sure there are other ways to unlocked ...
