T-Mobile Lands HTC HD7 as First Windows Phone 7 Device

T-Mobile and HTC today announced the HD7, the first Windows Phone 7 device to be sold by T-Mobile. Windows Phone 7 offers a new Start screen, which was designed to make it easier for users to get a glance at what their family, friends, and social networks are up to. Bing search is built into Windows Phone 7, which is fully integrated with Microsoft Exchange. The HD7 is the natural progression of HTC's HD2. It has a 4.3-inch screen and T-Mobile touts its entertainment features. It has quad-band GSM/EDGE radios and support for T-Mobile's UMTS/HSPA 3G network. Other radios include GPS, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Wi-Fi and FM. It packs a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and HD video recording. As for entertainment, the HD7 includes Netflix, T-Mobile TV, Slacker Radio, Xbox LIVE and Zune software. It has a media player, 16GB of built-in storage and a 3.5mm headset jack. T-Mobile calls out a new application being offered on the HD7 called Family Room, which it says will help families manage their schedules and communications easier. The HD7 is powered by a 1GHz SmapDragon processor, and will be available by the middle of November. Pricing was not disclosed.

This is a good phone, cant wait to see what happens to Apple and Android, although I still see Android on the top of the list.

i agree i think if they improved the software from the hd2 its goin to be a nice phone. the only way they can compete with android service or apple is if the windows marketplace actually has free apps instead of charging an arm and a leg for them.

I feel like I'm the only one...

who's never had a problem with windows...

currently own the hd2 and it runs great, yeah it locks every couple weeks but seriously what 'smart-phone' doesn't? And Ive got tweaks and all kinds of crap/apps loaded

I love my hd2 and might seriously consider this new device!

I suppose I'm just a lucky son of a biscuit in the less then .01% that doesn't have issues with windows stuff in general!

is still Windows Mobile. Microsoft has proven that they have no place in mobile operating systems. Everything they've touched outside of desktops and laptops has been disastrous, including tablets and mobile phones. People often cite hardware as the cause of constant failure, although there were very capable phones that were crippled by WM's terrible code.
Android is such a massive competitor to anybody, and companies such as Microsoft should realize that handsets are going to be a money pit.
