Sprint and T-Mobile have announced that they are waiving the fees normally incurred by using SMS short codes for those customers wishing to make donations to charities or organizations helping Japan. Sprint first announced this on March 11, and T-Mobile confirmed it today. T-Mobile today also told Phone Scoop via email, "We continue to evaluate the needs of our customers. Our thoughts and condolences go out to those affected by the earthquake and to all of our customers who have friends and loved ones in Japan." T-Mobile has not waived the fees for placing phone calls or sending text messages to recipients in Japan.

Surely...

they too will come through on this. Both AT&T and VZW have announced that they will be allowing free calls to Japan, I'm sure Tmo and Sprint will as well.
Way to go Sprint! What up, Tmo?
