Clearwire CEO Latest to Bash AT&T / T-Mobile Tie-Up
Mar 24, 2011, 11:33 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Clearwire's interim CEO John Stanton has expressed worry over the proposed AT&T acquisition of T-Mobile. Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, he said, "This represents something we're seriously concerned with," and called it a "huge challenge to competition in the industry." Stanton also called AT&T a "brutal competitor" and said, "They'll beat you up, and then they'll buy you." He also accused AT&T's long-term exclusive deal with Apple to sell the iPhone of "stepping on the air hose of T-Mobile." Earlier this week, Sprint's CEO also mentioned concerns over the mergers possible affects on the industry. The merger would create the nation's largest wireless network operator if approved.

I still don't understand...
It's just ridiculous. It seems that just because the competitor has more customers that this makes them a better product or a better deal. In this case, the ATT deal doesn't represent either.
So good they get some more network. Big whoop! This amounts to polishing a turd in my book... well maybe upgrading to something with some corn in it 🤣
I don't think this will upgrade the US's worst cell wireless carrier's customer service issues.
I'm pretty certain that ATT will share the costs of this 39 billion dollar deal along to its customers. Expect them to flaunt the fact that they are "#1" by hiking up the rates.
This along with future billing errors, network migration...

So far all the Sprint/Clearwire hater posts have nothing but bashing to say about their opposition to the deal.

Don't hate the player, hate the game
This is a business. People are in it to make money. You think Sprint/Clear gives a flying phuck about the consumer? They're just hating cause they were outbid so now they're playing the consumer advocate card in an effort to improve their public image. What a crock. At the end of the day, they're just another company trying to make a dollar out of 15 cents.

Sprint insulted the Germans with that $20 billion offer.
Do you have a link or something from some verifiable source, or are you just spouting nonsense made up in your mind?
Dan Hesse: They offered you what?
DT: 39...
Dan: Holy crap! Take it!
DT: Really?
Dan: Yeah man that's a $%^#load of money... Hey... How much do you get if the deal falls through?
