Sharp Plans Symbian Phones

At a press conference last week, Sharp announced plans to start using the Symbian operating system (OS) in some of its phones. The Japanese company also aims to boost its international phone business to 50% of shipments, up from 30% today. The company plans to adopt Symbian primarily for higher-end GSM and WCDMA phones. The company recent international models includes the TM100 and the GX30, Europe's first megapixel camera phone.
