phonemurder submitted this review of the Pantech Duo C810:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

When I first got this phone I loved it. But a few months later the issues with it showed up. First of all it will not send or receive any sort of message, and when I try to send a message all I get is a error message. Second it is made so cheaply that you can hear it creaking when you grab it. Third of all os the very very crappy camera. And that was all that was needed to completely ruin this phone for me.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Anybody who does not like this phone has not read the instructions. Yes it does take some time to figure out how to use it but overall it is great.

dremzwireless submitted this review of the Pantech Duo C810:

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

The Pantech Duo is a neat phone, aside from many of them having problems right out of the box. Before I talk about some of the problems we’ve seen, I’ll go into the perks.

One of the neat things about this phone is that it slides sideways for the full qwerty keyboard, and down for the numerical keypad. For the price, these two features alone make it a top contender for buyers. It doesn’t have a touch screen like some would think, but it does have Windows Mobile, allowing you to browse more sites online than something like Opera Mini, and you can sync with Outook. Another plus is the large screen for internet viewing and texting.

Some of the problems that we’ve had in many of the phones include the Duo locking up, screens going out, buttons not working, bad chargers and bad batteries. Also, the picture messaging and internet is hard to set up, unlike some of the other phones we’ve set up in-store. When the phone works, people love them. When they don’t, people don’t like us. To help with the latter, I’ve warned people before buying this product about some of these problems. People still buy it, and just deal with any problems as they arise, if they arise.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The phone seemed great, was running windows mobile and had IM, I was bought. As I know look back I bang my head to the wall and yell "FOOL!" - This phone out of the box was NEAT, SHINY AND BREATHTAKING. Once I turned it on, I knew I was going to have problems since it was slow.

PRO
FULL QWERTY
BEAUTIFUL SCREEN
FUNCTIONED WELL AS A BAR PHONE
3G PHONE
GREAT SIGNAL RECEPTION
WOULD NOT DROP CALLS AS OFTEN
CALL VOLUME IS LOUD

CONS:
VERY HEAVY
BULKY- FOR TEXTING YOUR HAND WOULD BE TIRED AFTER A LONG TEXT
QWERTY KEYS ARE SMALL AND HAVE A CHEAP FEEL
PHONE KEPT FREEZING
AFTER A MONTH OF TEXTING, THE QWERTY KEYS WERE NOT FUNCTIONING

This is one of those phones that are beautiful from the outside but HORRIBLE from the inside. AIM and texting was good while it lasted but I replaced the phone 3 times once because the qwerty keys would stop functioning then because the software kept freezing up and for the third time my phone was not making any calls or receiving any messages or calls. Overall, this phone lasted me 3 months until ATT decided to exchange under warranty for another phone. Horrible phone- I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

narn3049 submitted this review of the Pantech Duo C810:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

This phone was by far the most coolest phone I have owned with the AT&T service. This was over 1/2 years ago at Christmas. Yes it is a tough phone, but still was no match for a ME!

What I disliked about this phone was no touchscreen, I am more of a touchscreen fan so I probably should have gotten the quickfire iphone or vu.

The second thing I didn't like is that the slider is flimsly made, like if you slide it up, it just doesn't feel like a sturdy slider cell phone.

The reason it broke was because I dropped it and the black started showing on the top. I dropped it one last time and I could no longer open the phone at the qwerty side, I would have to press down and then one day it randomly just came off the screen.

This was a great texting phone at that time my Dad did not have a qwerty phone, So I pretty much out-texted him.......

Overall if you like non touchscreen windows mobile phones, you should get the phone. The camera was also great. I liked the ability to sync outlook emails and go on the web from the go- it looked real, like if you went on mobile facebook, it looks different it looks as if you were looking on the computer, which is what I also like about this phone.

I did use Jabra BT20 Bluetooth headset, and it was very good.

Oh and mine was red.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Unfortunately this phone is not up to snuff. I have read both positive and negative reviews in this forum, so here are mine:
NEGATIVES:
Unreliable. Freezes, disconnects, unable to make & receive calls several times per day, calender reminders disconnect calls, muffled audio, dreadfully slow browser and document downloads (so much for 3G), awkward keyboard (keys are flat, not raised), limited number of keys difficult to manage (must use Shift and Function keys often when typing full messages vs. texting. Battery short-lived unless you turn off Push function and sync manually or via e-mail send/receive. I am waiting for my second insured handset to replace an otherwise undamaged unit (out of warranty, so I have to pay a deductible this time).
POSITIVES:
Windows Mobile 6.1 download smooth; crisp graphics; like the idea of a full keyboard and traditional cell phone keypad; small and compact (a bit thick, but that is to be expected with the dual key pads), nice overall features.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

However, I'm far from satisfied. It takes forever for the screen to rotate depending on your keyboard, the camera is one of the worst I've ever used, the buttons on the QWERTY keyboard are terrible, and it freezes nonstop. It has terrible service. This phone is one of the most frustrating phones I've ever dealt with.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

TeriaShae submitted this review of the Pantech Duo C810:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

When I first got this phone for Christmas last year. I fell in love with it, It was all that I could ever ask for. But it is not mean't to be a smart phone in my book. It locked up for about once a week and I had to take the battery out. My thoughts:

Pro's:
Loud Speaker.
Great for texting.

Con's:
Lockes up.
Bad pictures.
Short battery.
Loading time sucks.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Alysha submitted this review of the Pantech Duo C810:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

It's functional and kinda cool but not worth the price and many features don't work as well as they should. I had a Motorola v365 that I was happier with other than it didn't have a very good keyboard for texting. It did have a better camera though, was much easier to use (overall), etc. Not to mention tech support for this phone is relatively non-existent through AT&T and if you have questions about features, need some sort of help or have service issues, good luck. The value just hasn't been there with this phone and I wouldn't buy another one.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Lately it have just became a pain though. My mother and I both have it and are both experiencing the same issues.

Cons:
drops calls like crazy! I know it's not att because everyone else I know with att does not have this problem

Fails to receive texts.

does not hold enough memory for a pda

freezes all the time.

Incoming and outgoing calls are not always completed or received.

Calls the last call not the call selected on the contact list.

Pros:
nice style

thats about it

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

MikeVIS submitted this review of the Pantech Duo C810:

Overall rating: 3 (out of 5)

I fell immediately in love with the DUO 810 because of a lot of interesting and nice features. Two keyboards, easy synchronizing with my PC (Outlook), search function excellent! But soon I realized that there were negative points. I do not think I can use it as a handsfree car phone because the voice recognition is not the most advanced as stated in the brochure because it doesn't learn my pronounciation and I do not want to change that just because of a phone! There is even better voice recognition software used in some automated phone systems. The most sophisticated existing software would learn my accent!
The phone was sold with an outdated Software Version. After the download of the (6.1)upgrade the synchronisation didn't work any more. I couldn't solve the mismatch of the drivers within 6-8hours! Therefore I will give it back and most likely take an I-Phone.
The phone has an option in locale settings to set the time on a 24hour clock (military time) and the date on dd/mm/yyyy (German)but when you chose that option the alarm clock is not to use! You will only be able to set alarms until noon when you enter them before noon and you can only enter alarms for the afternoon after 12 (noon). You can not enter an alarm in the evening for a wake up call in the morning when the 24hour option is set! The front display shows appointments in the 24hour mode but the actual time in the AM/PM Mode!
Another crazy thing is the 30sec. alarm or warning sound everytime there is an alarm or you delete something. You can not disable or stop! this noise.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

boone submitted this review of the Pantech Duo C810:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

I had to share my opinion of this phone since the reviews I've been reading say it's so great. The list of negatives on this phone isn't long, but they are substantial enough reasons that I'd discourage anyone from buying it. I'm hoping this phone continues to work long enough that I can get it replaced without having to buy another one before my contract is up.

1. The battery life is terrible. It claims to have 3 hours of talk time, which isn't much, but even that is an exaggeration. I charge my phone every night, and it has yet to make it through the next day.

2. Too many moving parts. I work in an office and wear a suit and tie everyday. All my phone does is go from my pocket to my car, car to desk, desk to car, and car to pocket - yet it's starting to fall apart. I have to physically hold the top sliding part in line with the bottom so that the phone will acknowledge the buttons I'm pressing. I would guess that this phone has accumulated less wear and tear than most, and still it's falling apart.

3. Once it starts falling apart, it's not covered by warranty. Even though it's in excellent condition and never seen water, the phone falling apart is considered "physical damage" and not eligible for replacement under the current warranty.

4. The store where I bought my phone (Seattle) doesn't even carry it anymore. They had too many complaints and returns.

I don't have a list of positives on this phone, mainly because I expect a phone to work and don't feel that it should "get props" for doing what I bought it for. If you are considering buying this phone, I hope you'll reconsider and buy something that will give you your money's worth.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

ATTemployeeLLG submitted this review of the Pantech Duo C810:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

OK guys, seeing as how I deal with this phone everyday of my life (literally), I think I should go ahead and let you know the majority of problems and SOME of the cons.

Everyday, people come in with it freezing all the time. Whether it be that changing to and from the qwerty keyboard or the internet starting... or just going from icon to icon, it freezes. I have at least 2 customers that have gotten a new duo 4 times using warranty, and each phone they received had the exact same problems.

My personal opinion on what happened is this. I believe that when pantech came out with this design, it was such a great and demanding idea, that they just didn't take enough time to fix the kinks in the phone.

Now for the cons....
it's a cool design.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
