bing722 submitted this review of the LG VX-2000:

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

This was my first phone with Verizon Wireless, and I had it for 2 years. It served me well during that time with no major problems.

Pros
- This phone gets a very good signal. Not the best, but very acceptable. Very few dropped calls in 2 years.
- Tri-mode!
- LOUD speakerphone!
- LOUD ringtones/earpiece volume
- Very strong vibrate
- Very nice menu layout
- Comes with 2 games (granted, they aren't spectacular, but better than nothing)
- Good battery life

Cons
- From normal wear, the numbers rub off of the buttons
- Monochrome screen (if that matters to you)
- Poor selection of ringtones

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

flightdog submitted this review of the LG VX-2000:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

I've had this phone for about 18 months and I cannot read the keys any longer. The letters are wearing off. I am also having problems getting it to connect within areas with excellent cell coverage.

You cannot download new ring tones and the ones that come with the phone are pathetic.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

SublimeChica submitted this review of the LG VX-2000:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

This phone is not a terribly bad phone but it is not the most cool phone. It is pretty ugly and the ring tones SUCK! It would be a lot better if it was a flip phone. It is a very loud phone but it just isn't very stylish. If you are a person that doesn't mind having a phone that isn't stylish and needs loud ringers then this phone is for you. I also always got very good reception with this phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

monoxyde submitted this review of the LG VX-2000:

Overall rating: 0 (out of 5)

My previous phones have been Nokia and Motorola. These phones may not have all the bells and whistles in the world, but they definately get the job done well.

LG on the other hand, its very sluggish. My phone locks up occasionally, and I get very bad signal. I live in a relatively big city, there are plenty of digital towers around. When I had my Motorola, I always had digital signal. With LG, I pick up the crappy analog.

I really hate this phone. The battery life is horrible. If I fully charge my battery at night, then I will have a dead battery by the next night, and I don't do that much talking!

All in all, I'd recommend you NOT get this phone, it'll be the worst decision you ever made.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

clouds918 submitted this review of the LG VX-2000:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

Having come from an all-Nokia background, I found this phone to be difficult to use, ugly and flimsy.

To be honest, I never chose to have this phone; it was sort of given to me as a gift. Nevertheless, whenever one receives a gift it is one's initial instinct to be grateful and to do one's best to enjoy the gift. This was extremely difficult with the VX-2000.

For starters, it is ugly. Somehow the people at LG managed to make the phone's layout extraordinarily unseemly and unattractive. The colors look funny and make the phone look much older than it is. The screen, too, reminds me of that of one of my really, really old phones.

The phone itself is difficult to maneuver and program. The layout is annoying and hard to navigate and locating phone book entries requires acrobatic ability. The display itself is that pathetic lime green color and is absurdly old-fashioned.

The ringers are fairly decent, and they were the only part of the phone I can say I really enjoyed. The speaker option, too, was kind of cool, though its range was minimal and you had to change from regular to speaker mode during the conversation, which was awkward.

Reception was terrible and the phone wouldn't bother beeping or anything to let you know it was turning off. It just... did.

Really, the only two positive points were the decent ringers and the speaker phone.

Oh, and the fact that Verizon lets you return the phone. My Nokia should be arriving any day now.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

dorqus submitted this review of the LG VX-2000:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

So my trusty Startac died, and I had to get a new phone. I wasn't crazy with any of the current Verizon offerings, so I chose what I thought would be the best phone they had - the LG VX2000. It has some nice features, speaker phone (which seams very quiet), some games (very slow), expanded memory compared to the startac (which is nice), plus it is small and light.

I've had this phone for just over 24 hours, and I'm not happy with it at all. The call quality is not very good, and this is in New York City where there is good cell reception. The most annoying thing is that there does not seem to be any way to adjust the volume during a call! Very frustrating. I ordered a startac from ebay and once I get that the LG VX2000 will go back in the box to rot.

Pros: small, light, basic layout, pretty easy to use without looking at the manual too much.

Cons: poor reception (even with the antenna up), inability to adjust volume in mid-conversation, no voice dialing (although it's implied that the phone has it, you need the hands free kit to use it)

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
