kav2001c submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

My first cellular phone was this old model. It had very poor volume and dropped calls constantly (which makes me wonder as Rogers claims to have the best coverage in the Toronto area). The most interesting thing about this phone was the customizable plates. But even years ago this was a poor performer.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Tom Bombadil submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

I'm about to upgrade from my 3360, after using it for 4 years. It has been a reliable phone, with average reception, and below average battery life.

The original battery died after two years. I replaced it with a cheap, larger capacity battery that I purchased off of eBay. The replacement was much better.

Along the way I dropped the 3360 unto hard surfaces four times. It survived all of them, but the last one broke one of the latches on the back cover, so it isn't too secure anymore.

Signal reception was okay, but not great. There were several locations where others could get a signal and I could not. On the other hand, it rarely dropped a signal.

My biggest peeve with it was that the battery drained very quickly when you were in a low signal area. Even after a full recharge, if I used it in a "one-bar" area, it would be completely discharged within 20 minutes. And if I left it on in a "no service" area, it would be discharged within 2 days even if I hadn't used it once.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

wired2634 submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

My main problem is the phone would power off by itself. Signal problems incurred after it was installed and removed from a portable speaker base for vehicles. had charging problems, phone would charge sometimes and other times it would say its charged when its not. the head set jack would not work correctly and the ringing speaker would not ring sometimes. I was on a partner company of AT&T called edge wireless.

If you enjoy any of the above this is your phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Got mine for a couple of bucks at the Salvation Army thrift store. Easy to find an OEM face plate so it looks like new.

Pros:
Nice recessed display - scratch resistant.
Does good job with text/email.
IR port. Great for adding phone book.
Easy to find OEM face plate.
Standard headset works.
Nice discrete buttons.

Cons:
Rather heavy for its size as of 2006.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

happy22 submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

I received this phone free with a one year AT&T wireless contract way back in Aug 2001.
(NYC metro)

It's still very much alive and kickin, I've never had a dropped call, it never "breaks up", I always have the strongest signal strength (5 bars) under the most extreme circumstances, can leave it on standby for up to 2 weeks, using it as often as I like, the free ear bud fits and works perfectly, it fully recharges in ~ 1 hour.

I've been off-contract for a LONG time now, waiting for the phone to croak (or have any problem whatsoever) but as of this review all is well - amazingly.

This is my third Nokia (the first was strictly analog back when you got 30 whole minutes for $29.99!)

They've all been free & equally awesome. I had one display error with the first one due ONLY to the fact that AT&T conned me into trying a Motorola - couldn't dial a single call on that piece of junk - told them to reactivate my Nokia. I took it to a local dealer, got a free loaner, and never had a problem again, ever!

I use my cell for it's intended purpose - a PHONE. I don't need the bells and whistles.

I have yet to know anyone who can say the same of their phone(s), even the most expensive.

I'm seriously not looking forward to the day I have to replace my Nokia 3360!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

zzz_101 submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

Both my wife and I had Nokia 3360 phones from AT&T Wireless on a shared "family" plan for two years this month.
We had troubles from the get go with dropped calls and weak or non-existing signal in most areas we happened to use these phones (Los Angeles and Orange county CA). We lasted through the two years contract mostly because we simply don't use these phones that much (500 minutes calling plan and we never came close to exceeding it). We blamed the AT&T Wireless service and swore to dump it when the contract expires.
When I called AT&T Wireless to cancel service and admitted that we cancel because of weak coverage they said that the phones we have, Nokia 3360, are known for bad reception. Now we are not sure any more whether we experienced troubles related to bad wireless service or bad phones. Either way, AT&T Wireless does not deserve our business. They furnished those phones with the calling plan and if they knew they were bad then shame on them.
Now they offer free Nokia 2260 or 3560 replacement phones as temptation to keep our business. I checked these phones here on phonescoop.com and found out that Cingular used to offer and has discontinued them. Not sure what that means, doesn't look good though.
We are switching this week to either Cingular or T-Mobile; tough call, decision not made yet. Both offer Nokia 6010 and reviewers on this site gave rave reviews for this phone. Either way we decide, we'll take Nokia 6010 for phones.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

tigerpsychosis submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

I signed up with AT&T back in 02 and I got this phone because it was the cheapest. It got the job done that I needed at the time but as the months went on things started happening with it.

- Battery wouldn't last for very long.
- Barely lasted for 50 minutes when talking on the phone.
- Ink in the screen started to LEAK and I ended up replacing it with a new Nokia.

After having the phone replaced with a new one about a year later things started going down hill with it also.

- Voice message would stay on the screen (that little icon at the top) even if there wasn't a voice message.
- Text messages wouldn't send.
- I would press a key and it would have a lag time on it. Ie: pressing 5 and then 10 seconds later the 5 would show up on the screen.

I dunno, I finally got some money and am bascially fed up with this phone and changing. I would recommend for a teen who doesn't have to use it very often, but for adults who need it for business purposes I would not recommend it.

Pros:
- Loud ringing.
- Hard vibrating.
- Clear when giving/recieving calls.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

This phone is no better than a paper weight. I have had nothing but problems from the day i had got the nokia 3360, i switched to sprint and now own the samsung a620 and i guess you can ever compare the two. But the nokia have major issues, whenever i would plug in the ear piece and pull it out, the phone would stay in a head set mode, so when people would call in i could not hear them, also the phones face plates would never close completely onto the phone, and after you changed them it made the buttons hard to used, and the phone would always, always always search for service. This phone is a joke and a waste of my money

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

You can still find these old phones on E-bay for less than $30. Good enough for those in an area that's still in the TDMA to GSM transition (as that won't be completed nationwide until '07 with Cingular).

Pros: small, easy to use, downloadable ring-tones, can find it very cheap or free.

Cons: buggy software (each time the power drains, the clock has to be reset and it won't display), lousy call quality, signal strength fluctuates constantly, boring phone that utilizes old technology, heavy for it's small size

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

ag1247 submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

the phone is great for those who want something boring, or for those just starting out with a wireless phone. The only problem I found with this phone is the time keeps reseting itself, in order to fix it you need to turn the phone off, turn it back on, go to the settings, and select to "SHOW CLOCK" Its simple to do but it shouldn't have to be done.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

dslack432 submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

OK. On my 3rd in about 7 months. I get MAYBE 10 hours on a battery IF I don't talk at all. The no service thing is getting old REAL quick. As is the outbox for text deleting messages as fast as I can send them. I'm giving this phone a one based on the fact that you can get cases and other things very easily for them. That's about the only good thing about this phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

AlexAinslie submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

The nokia 3360 was my first phone. I found it reliable and I never experienced the phone turning off or screen going blank. Recenlty I filled all two hundred and fifty entries in the phone book. My contract with Cingular is up and I will be purchasing a new phone soon, but I have no regrets about this phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

adda submitted this review of the Nokia 3360 / 3361:

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

got bopped in the head with this phone by AT&T. Had a star-tac which I liked. It finally gave up after 2.5 years. Have noticed some of the same complaints, lost ability to view recent calls, dropped calls, poor reception, etc. The thing I dislike about it the most is the speaker. Five tiny holes arranged in a straight line vertically. If you don't hold it just right over your ear during wind or noise, you can't hear anything. also found backplate "chinsy" always afraid it's going to break, even though I rarely take it off. Going back to motorola.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
