Cingular Wireless announced last week that it will invest more than $500 million in improvements and upgrades to its wireless networks in North Carolina and South Carolina in 2002. This initiative is part of the company's nationwide, $5.8 billion capital expenditure for 2002. As part of the company's commitment to the Carolinas, Cingular recently enhanced its coverage and capacity in Northeast Columbia, Hartsville, Summerville and Folly Beach, S.C. Additional areas scheduled for coverage enhancements this year include Charleston, Southeast Florence, and Hwy 701 between Conway and Georgetown, S.C.
