Nextel Ads Declared Misleading

The National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau recently ruled certain Nextel advertising claims to be false and misleading. The claim in question is "only Nextel Direct Connect, the digital two-way feature, offers instant contact with the push of a button". Southern LINC, another U.S. iDEN carrier offering the same 2-way radio feature, filed a complaint last March with the National Advertising Division. Nextel agreed to discontinue those claims and keep them out of future advertising.
