Orange Launches World's First Windows Powered Smartphone in Europe

Microsoft and European operator Orange today announced the launch of the world's first Windows® Powered Smartphone - the Orange SPV. The SPV – which stands for Sound Pictures Video – is manufactured by HTC, and was previously known by the code-name "Canary". An attachable camera will be included with the phone. The SPV is due to be available in the UK in early November, followed by France, Denmark and Switzerland in the coming weeks. Other Orange operations including Belgium, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Romania and Thailand are also expected to offer the SPV early in 2003.
