Handspring To License RIM Keyboard Design
Nov 5, 2002, 1:39 PM by (staff)
Research In Motion (RIM) and Handspring today announced that they have signed an agreement in principle under which RIM will license keyboard patents to Handspring. Several weeks ago, RIM filed a complaint alleging that Handspring's Treo devices infringe patents for unique keyboard features implemented in RIM's BlackBerry™ handhelds. RIM has agreed to dismiss its pending litigation against Handspring following the execution of a definitive agreement.
