Verizon's LTE 4G Expansion Boosts Coverage to 230 Markets

Verizon Wireless today announced a new series of markets that will gain access to its LTE 4G network starting April 19. The new markets include Brunswick, LaGrange, and Macon, Georgia; the Cattaraugus-Allegany region of New York; Dodge City, Great Bend, and Garden City Kan.; and Des Moines, Iowa. In addition to these new markets, Verizon's LTE footprint will increase in the established markets of Ft. Collins-Loveland, Colo.; Southwest Missouri; Southern Illinois; Boise and Nampa, Idaho; Buffalo, N.Y.; Lancaster, Mass; Hookset and Hopkinton, N.H.; Wichita, Kan.; St. Louis, Mo.; Salt Lake City-Ogden, Utah; and Pierre, S.D. According to Verizon, it is launching 4G LTE network in a total of 27 new markets and expanding the network in 44 existing markets across the U.S. on April 19. Verizon says this expansion increases its overall coverage to two-thirds of the U.S. population in 230 markets.
