Sony Intros Waterproof and Semi-Rugged Xperia Go

Sony Mobile today announced the Xperia Go, a new Android smartphone that is dust-proof, water-resistant, and durable enough to handle some mild mistreatment. The Xperia Go features a scratch-resistant, 3.5-inch, 320 x 480 Reality Display with Sony's Mobile Bravia Engine and a dual-core 1GHz processor. The Go includes a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus, and 720p HD video capture and support for DLNA. The Xperia Go has 512MB of RAM, comes with 50GB of Box storage, and has 8GB of on-board storage. It supports micrSD cards up to 32GB. It offers a full array of entertainment features, including Sony Entertainment Network's Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited services. It will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but is upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It will be marketed and sold in the U.S. as the Sony Xperia Advance. Sony didn't say which U.S. network operators might offer it.
