Kodak to Sell Off 1,100 Digital Imaging Patents

Eastman Kodak has asked the court overseeing its bankruptcy proceedings for permission to sell off the bulk of its digital imaging patents. These patents have been shopped around by Kodak's lawyers and 20 companies have signed non-disclosure agreements indicating interest. The court will decide on the matter early next month. The bidding process will be conducted in secret and the winner will be announced when the auction is complete. Kodak expects the auction will be finalized by mid-August.
