Facebook pushed out a minor update to its Android application this week that adds several new features, chief among them being access to the user-facing camera. Facebook explains that this change will make it easier for users to take photos of themselves for posting to the social network. The app also adds new messaging capabilities, including the ability to switch between conversations, add friends of friends to the conversation, share larger photos within the messaging service, and see who's online for chatting. Facebook for Android 1.9.7 also fixes bugs, patches a security hole, and speeds up the login process. It requires Android 2.2 and up.
