HTC EVO 3D, EVO Design 4G to Get ICS Next Month

Sprint today announced that both the HTC EVO 3D and EVO Design 4G will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich starting in early August. Users will be notified automatically when the update is available to their device. The update can be downloaded and installed over the air. Sprint expects the update to take several weeks to reach all users.
quick question about evo 3d ics...
I am running a ROM on my phone...Fresh EVO 3d 4.2.0 rooted s-on. Will my phone be pushed the update? I would like to receive the update, and override my root...Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah just wait a little while longer if you want to use a Fresh rom based on ICS. Or you can head over to xda forums and get one that's available now. I'm just waiting on a kernel that can be over clocked. But even with the stock htc kernel the phone'...

That's funny...
I remember Sprint saying the update for the EVO 3D would be out in May. Then in June. Then in June - July. Now early August. I've completely given up on Sprint coming through at this point.
I know it is sad. I have the Evo 3D and have been patiently waiting, the jurking around does suck though.
Really? Must have missed it. Can you post a link to a Sprint news release or other Sprint news source providing an ICS launch schedule?
