Google has provided an update to the companion application for the Nexus Q. The app, which is a necessary component to the Nexus Q that controls it as well as feeds it content, now supports smartphones and tablets running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and up. It previously only supported Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The update also includes improvements to the guest mode feature. The Nexus Q app is a free download from the Google Play Store. Google also updated the YouTube application for Android devices, giving it more video features for the Nexus Q in addition to support for older devices. YouTube for Android is also a free update from the Google Play Store.
