Simple Mobile today announced that it has lowered the price of its unlimited voice, text, and 3G/4G data plan to $50/month, down from $60/month previously. Simple Mobile offers SIM-only service that customers use with their own unlocked GSM/HSPA+ phone. The plan includes unlimited domestic long distance voice, unlimited global text messaging, and unlimited data at up to 42 mbps. The company uses T-Mobile's GSM and HSPA+ 42 network.
SIMPLE MOBILE - ABSOLUTELY FRAUD - REPORTED TO TX AG'S CONSUMER FRAUD
Do not switch your service nor utilize this company, as they're committing consumer fraud. I've taken it to the TX Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Division. The company says Unlimited Internet, Unlimited Data, Unlimited Text Messaging and Unlimited Voice - FALSE. If you go over what Simple Mobile considers 'excessive use' your either cut off completely, or asked to pay another overage fee. If you don't they cut you off. No where on any of their advertisements do they tell you want amount of usage is excessive. Stay away, I got burned but I'm letting the TX Attorney Generals Office of Consumer Fraud investigate these people.
Excessive use is probably a clause that is in the contract they require you to sign when you want to use their service. If it is, that is definately not fraud.
Not surprising
Since Tracfone now owns Simple, this it not that surprising. Net10 has a $50 unlimited so this price is in line with that brand.
SimpleMobile works off of T-Mobile 1900 native footprint. You get what you pay for.
Too bad they were recently bought by Tracfone
They have some nasty practices in their other brands. The SM model would generally be immune to those, but I worry about what brilliant ideas Tracfone might come up with to ruin a good thing.
From my understanding Tracfone is letting Simple Mobile basically maintain the way it is, again who can complain about an "unlimited" plan for $50.
