RealNetworks today announced that RealPlayer for Android has graduated beta and is now available as a full application. RealPlayer for Android doesn't just play music; it also plays photo slide shows and videos. The new application lets users organize and play music from a single user interface and offers voice-controlled search, widgets, and song tagging. It includes an equalizer, playlist editor, crossfade controller and a personalized radio function. Last, the app adds social networking powers, and lets users share their media across Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, and YouTube. Two versions of the app are available, one ad-supported version and one that costs $4.99. The paid version offers compatibility with RealAudio and RealVideo, and provides an ad-free experience. The app requires Android 2.1 and up.

Does anybody even trust realplayer anymore?

Remember when real player was awesome, the best media player out there? It had all that real streaming audio, real player radio, and it's own video streaming format that was pretty good back in the day?

Then they loaded it down with spyware, and turned a great application into not only something worthless, but something you really, really, did not want to have on your comptuer.

I will never trust real player ever again.
The format hasn't really kept up with the times either. It's been ages since I've even seen a realaudio or realvideo file.
