Google today pushed out a new version of its YouTube application for older Android versions. YouTube for Android 2.2 Froyo and 2.3 Gingerbread adds the pre-caching feature that was made available to Android 4.0 devices earlier this year. Videos can be queued for viewing on compatible TV sets, though an internet connection is required to watch subscription content. The app also adds several new channels to the Channel Store and updates the user interface so that it appears more in line with the current Android 4.0 version of YouTube. The update is a free download from the Google Play Store.
