HP has provided T-Mobile with a software update for their iPaq 6315 Pocket PC phone. The update improves Bluetooth, voice quality, overall stability and includes other fixes as well. Current 6315 owners can download the update, which must be installed from a PC, from T-Mobile's website. T-Mobile also resumed sales of the iPaq 6315 on their website and in stores today.
HP6315 Patch Works Great
🙂 I Installed the new patch and it works great. The lag with the buttons used to drive me crazy with the old firmware. But with the new, the device responds faster to the buttons. I use Jabra bluetooth headset and have no problems till now.
HP6315 patch
I installed the update and my PDA will no longer recognize a Bluetooth headset. I tried three different ones and it would not link to any of them.
Not exactly appealing...
I'm assuming that HP will apply the patch to future 6315s instead of instructing customers to download the patch after purchasing the unit. That would be just silly, right...someone slap me if it is.
For the ones that we already have in stock, we will have to instruct the customers that buy them to install the patch... otherwise, I'm sure the new ones that ship will already have it.
Yeah, I work for T-Mobile, and we got an email as the iPAQ was relaunched letting us know that all the new units will be updated with the software.
Good for them
Nice to see Tmobile win the battle on this one. I'll be interested to see if the software patch actually fixes the problem though.
I just had a guy cancel (within buyers remorse) yesterday because we didnt have proper support for Ipaq, wonder what he'll think
