Verizon Wireless today announced the availability of two new prepaid plans that don't require contracts. The first plan costs $60 per month and includes unlimited voice minutes, unlimited messaging, and 500MB of data. The second plan costs $70 per month and boosts the data allotment to 2GB. According to Verizon, the new prepaid plans can be used with a variety of 3G devices, such as Android, BlackBerry, and iOS smartphones. In Verizon's press piece, it suggests that people can bring their own, older devices if they so wish, rather than purchase a new one. The new plans are available beginning today.

LTE???

Might be worth it if they let you on. I have a few phones that are LTE that I know I could sell if they could get on LTE with that.
It appears to be limited to 3G devices.

iOS smartphones?

I love it when somebody refers to an iPhone as an *iOS* Smartphone. It makes it sound like such a broad platform covering a wide range of devices, when in fact, that couldn't be farther from the truth. In my opinion, an iOS smartphone does not exist. An iPhone does.
Well, as opposed to an iOS tablet, iOS tiny tablet, or iOS MP3 player...
Let's see. Apple has the 4S and 5 on Verizon. That's 2. So that would make it IOS smartphones. Just saying.
Glad you got that off your chest.
IOS->SMARTPHONE->Iphone->5->4s->4
hmmm...

BYOD?

It doesn't say on their page, other than that you can use iOS devices, but I don't see where you can buy an iPhone from them. Does this mean that if you buy a second-hand VZW phone with a clean ESN that you can activate it with them now? Previously when this plan was $80 you had to buy only their pre-approved phones.
Looks like you can bring your own phone if you're a VZW customer at least. Here's my conversation with VZW support.
