Sprint Drops Free & Clear Plans

Sprint has chosen to simplify their rate plans by eliminating Free & Clear plans for new subscribers. The move comes thanks to the popularity of their Fair & Flexible plans, which offers subscribers a base amount of minutes and then adds buckets of 100-200 minutes for those who use more for a low price. Not only do these plans lower overage charges for customers, but they also increase customer satisfaction. Although the move to Fair & Flexible is now standard, it has been the primary plan of Sprint stores and resellers for some time since its introduction.

new Nextel/Sprint universal plans will be out in like September probably...

Thats my guess also..
Not sure if that’s the whole plan, however, it could be.

I think the main reason why they are dropping this plan is because of the popularity of the fair and flex plans that account for at least 50 percent of their new subscribers that they sign ...

I'd say that is a fairly bad guess, considering the FCC hasn't even approved the merger yet. It's much to soon, to talk about sprint/nextel combined plans or what have you.
