T-Mobile today said that LTE 4G can be accessed by 202 million people in 233 markets around the U.S., including 91 of the top 100 metro areas. T-Mobile said it has met its original goal of covering 200 million pops by the end of the year months ahead of schedule. T-Mobile also offers HSPA+ across much of its network. Despite reaching its LTE deployment goal for 2013 early, the company said it is not done. The company runs its network on 10/10MHz channels in most markets, but will begin doubling that to 20/20MHz next year. This will improve capacity on its network. T-Mobile's LTE footprint doesn't quite match those of its two largest competitors, Verizon Wireless and AT&T, though. Verizon's network covers 300 million people across more than 500 markets, and AT&T's covers 240 million in 437 markets. T-Mobile did not say if or how it plans to increase the footprint of its coverage in the U.S.

T-mobile Press Release

Since Phone Scoop neglected to provide the link to T-Mobile's press release, here it is:

http://phx.corporate-ir.net/External.File?item=UGFyZ ... »

Claim 1: "T-Mobile’s latest-generation 4G LTE network is now nationwide,
reaching more than 200 million people in 233 metropolitan
areas across the United States."

Translation: Since there are more than 200 million people and 233 MSA's in the U.S., "Nationwide" means something between 'We've got LA and NYC covered, and maybe some markets in between' and what the other guys are rolling out. Check VZW's and AT&T's POPs and markets covered. T-Mobile's 'nationwide' LTE is far from nationwide by competitor comparison.

Claim 2: "T-Mobile’s 4G LTE ...

Not to be rude, but this is flat out false

"T-Mobile also offers HSPA+ across its entire network."

False. T-Mobile is stretching the truth again. Many areas in Delaware are GPRS. THink about that...GPRS! Not even EDGE.

I won't even comment on the LTE coverage since all the big 4 stretch the truth on LTE availability. Verizon claims a huge network, but I saw 1X and 3G just as often as LTE in the 5th largest city in America.
Agree I can point to a dozen cities in western IL that have, at best, GPRS. Large swaths of the country along I-80 - a major highway corridor that you would expect to be covered with fast data - have similar GPRS/EDGE only coverage. T-Mobile's state...

Were I live I get:
LTE from AT&T
Edge from T-Mobile
LTE/3G from Sprint (Only get LTE when is a clear day)
Verizon it depends because its completely random from no service, 1X, 3G or LTE. Its very inconstant signal and quality from Verizon

I do not believe the press release is flat out false, but it is as true as any other carriers claims.

My personal experience is that T-Mobile high speed coverage is spotty at best, even in large metropolitan areas like NYC. Integration with MetroPC...

I think you may have misread the post. The article never used the word "Entire". The article is true. It simply states LTE is nation wide covering 202 million people. In the united states you can substantiate that claim with a relatively small foot pr...

Someone needs to tell Tmo they forgot Maine when they did the upgrade/ roll out. Cause I get GPRS in 90% of the state. The only place I would get 4g is 2.5 hours south near the NH border. Lol so nationwide it's not. Hell I'd settle for HSDPA coverage ...

T-Mobile's LTE spreading like a cancer...

And Sprint continues to do what it does best. Incompetence. I really was rooting for Sprint but they're still up to their old ways. Still bitching and moaning on backhaul issues. Why rhe phuck cant they get it together already! T-Mobile smells blood in the water. Do the japs even care? Why buy a network and not invest in it ?
what's a "jap"?
