Cingular 3G Handset Launch Imminent

Cingular today announced an upcoming streaming video service. In doing so, the company has revealed it will launch 3G handsets in the near future. Subscribers will be able to stream clips and episodes of shows, including exclusives from HBO to new phones in the near future. Manufacturers that have phones Cingular is likely to launch with, such as LG, Nokia and Samsung have all announced a Q1 2006 launch for their first US 3G phones. Update: Both the LG CU320 and Samsung ZX10 have been identified for a January launch, confirming the phones and service will arrive next month.

Unwise?
Why would it be so unwise? Since these are first-time launches, they should not take away from people buying PEBLs and RAZRs and PTT phones and stuff, they are two different markets. No?
