Apple Scoops Up Mapsense

Apple has purchased a small mapping company called Mapsense, reports Re/Code. Apple paid between $25 million and $30 million for the San Francisco-based firm, which "builds tools for analyzing and visualizing location data." The company's 12-person team will be folded into Apple's Cupertino headquarters. Apple has acquired a number of small mapping companies over the years in an on-going effort to improve its Apple Maps application.
