Sprint Considering More Music Options Including Subscriptions
Mar 28, 2006, 7:36 PM by (staff)
A Sprint executive today said the carrier is looking at a number of options to expand its music services. Sprint expects to link the Sirius satellite channels users can already subscribe to to the music store. If a user hears a song he likes while listening to a satellite channel, he will be able to click a button to buy that song and have it downloaded to his handset and desktop account. Sprint is also hoping to add a subscription service to its music store. Like Napster or Yahoo!, this would allow subscribers access to unlimited music for as long as they pay a monthly fee. Sprint is still working out details such as when this service could launch or how much it will cost.
