Verizon, Vodafone Still In Talks Over VZW

Vodafone is still considering offers from Verizon for the purchase of its share of Verizon Wireless. Although neither company will comment, sources have said the two are still talking but that Verizon has not made an offer that meets Vodafone's expectations. An unconfirmed report has said Verizon most recently offered $38 billion for Vodafone's stake, but that Vodafone is looking for $50 billion.

ok.. so what does this mean to VZW workers
Anyone have a comment?

i think after they successfully buy out vodafone's stake they should do what alltel and sprint are doing by spinning off its landline/local division and focus primarily on wireless, since that is the future.
Voda doesn't seem to be in a hurry to sell, not sure they want to sell at all.
This idea was initiated by Verizon.
Voda should holdout for $50.

Voda Holds out for 50bil and gets it, but they get hammered with a larger tax bill and then voda would have to buy the rest of vzw's steak of it's Italian Company, which is estimated @ 10bil.
So who really knows what the math is, they have hands in each others pockets and this could make for some pretty creative foot-wor...
