Sony Ericsson Announces Flood Of Phones

Sony Ericsson today announced four new phones, including 2 new Walkman phones. The Walkman models add a new feature called Track ID that allows a user to record a few seconds of a song from the microphone or the built in FM radio, and send it off to a server for identification.
- W850: Sony Ericsson's first slider outside of Japan. Also the first Walkman phone with A2DP stereo Bluetooth. A 900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS phone with WCDMA 2100. Features a 2 Megapixel camera, second VGA camera for video calls, QVGA screen, Memory Stick Duo slot with 1 GB card, Bluetooth, and a new Walkman player including support for track downloads over the network with the e-AAC+ format.
- W710: A music oriented clamshell with new fitness features. Has quad-band GSM/EDGE with 2 Megapixel camera, 176x220 display with a 128x128 monochrome external screen, Memory Stick Micro M2 slot including a 512 MB card, Bluetooth, and a new pedometer sensor and fitness application.
- Z710: A W710 without the Walkman or fitness features. Does not include the 512 MB M2 card either. However features Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo Bluetooth.
- Z550: A clamshell phone with 900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS. Features include a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Memory Stick Micro M2 slot and a single line, monochrome external display.

Why no A2DP on the Walkman W710?
Way to go SE! You get an award for making absolutely no sense while at the same time deliberately stripping features from the user.
