MODE Bands for Android Wear Are Easy to Swap
Apr 26, 2016, 12:22 PM by Eric M. Zeman

Google today introduced what it calls MODE watch bands for Android Wear devices created with help from b&nd by Hadley Roma. The bands feature a snap-and-swap switch where they connect to the watch so they can easily be removed and changed. Google is making a wide variety of leather and silicon bands available for Android Wear devices in four different sizes to ensure compatibility with most smartwatches. Google plans to make the MODE mechanism design available to other brands to expand the number of snap-and-swap bands beyond today's launch collection. A tool on Google's web site helps Android Wear owners select a band that fits their specific watch. The MODE bands are available to purchase online from Google, Amazon, and Best Buy.

lol, just what everybody needs, a removable watch band with a slide lock under the band....
The locks to hold the band onto the watch are like little slide toggle buttons on the under side of the band, which woohoo they looks like Android toggle switches but they also look like they will come unlocked at the most inopportune times.
Or maybe the most opportune time, if you are a "smart" watch maker.
