Cingular Rolls Out 3G In Atlanta
Jun 14, 2006, 12:12 PM by (staff)
Cingular today launched 3G service in its hometown of Atlanta. This marks the seventeenth metro area for Cingular's UMTS/HSDPA service. Subscribers with 3G data cards should be able to take advantage of HSDPA downloads speeds averaging 400-700 kbps and peaking over one megabit. Cingular announced that additional 3G handsets including HSDPA phones will be available later this. The carrier also said that most of its major markets will have 3G service by the end of this year, which appears to confirm our earlier report that it will re-launch nationwide 3G in the fourth quarter.
